This study examines the Islamic values represented in the textbook al-Arabiyyah Baina Yadaik using Ferdinand de Saussure’s semiotic framework. The findings indicate that the visual and textual signs presented in the book function not only as tools for Arabic language instruction but also as vehicles for conveying ethical and religious meanings. Greetings, the utterance of assalāmu‘alaikum, and handshaking represent Islamic ethics of respect and brotherhood (ukhuwah); images of healthy food and beverages reflect the Qur’anic principle of ḥalālan ṭayyiban; morning activities symbolize the blessing of productivity; the depiction of various professions illustrates the concept of farḍu kifāyah; values of cleanliness and cooperation emphasize the importance of social responsibility; while illustrations of prayer highlight its virtue, particularly punctual performance and congregational observance. Overall, these signs demonstrate that the textbook integrates language learning with the comprehensive internalization of Islamic values.
